One day in e-mail to Soforia, I suggested that it might be fun if we play chess online. I was interested in seeing what would happen. I speculated/fantasized what might happen:
- She is simply a better player than I and defeats me handily.
- She gives me instructions that make it impossible to defeat Her (Don’t take My Queen…Move your knight into jeopardy.
- She confuses me and lowers my intelligence. I am now playing like a five year old and She defeats me easily.
- Subconsciously, I don’t want to beat Her. I play bad moves for no good reason. She takes advantage of my miscues and wins.
- She uses Hypnosis to actually alter how I perceive the board. The empty square actually contains Her Rook. No way I can defend and She wins effortlessly.
I wasn’t sure if She played chess, was interested in playing me, or could see this was a transparent attempt to spend time with Her online. Much to my delight, She responded that it sounded like fun. We mad plans to play in a couple of days. One of Her other admirers told me that She had been practicing Her chess. I was intrigued. Was She going to beat me without the use of Hypnosis?
The night finally came. She IM’ed She was ready and I set up a private table on Yahoo! I sat down and took white. She arrived and my heart was a flutter. I would have gone down on one knee and kissed Her Graceful and Glorious Hand if I could. She said that She suspected I was nervous and I admitted that I was, but that I was determined to win and hoped She wouldn’t hold that against me.
“Why would you want to win?” She asked. And I could think of no reason. “You might find yourself getting confused during the game,” she added. And suddenly it was getting harder to think.
She asked me which color was better for defeating me, and I told Her White. So She demanded that I relinquish my seat.
“What piece would You move first and why?” She inquired
“Move the pawn to e4,” I answered and I gave my reasons.
“And how will you respond to that? Do you have a trick move?”
“No tricks. I will play c5, The Sicilian Defense”
She played e4 and I played c5
“I have an idea. You tell me what moves I should make and I’ll tell you what moves you should make.”
“OK,” I agreed. How could I do anything else?
She asked me what move to make next. “Knight to c3,” I responded. I was helping Her defeat me, but I didn’t care, in fact I desperately wanted to help Her.
She then told me to make a worthless pawn move. I complied immediately and unquestioningly.
So Soforia’s White Pieces benefited from all my experience as they mounted an attack, while my black pieces marched like zombies to their deaths.
But if felt so good to move my men where She told me to, every command, every move, it was so wonderful Obeying Her Instructions.
Soforia took my Queen and laughed. “I liked eating your queen. Hehehehehehe!"
Soforia took my rook with Her Knight. “I wanted to ride you again. LOL!"
Once or twice She actually let me make a move on my own, But it was too little, too late. I commented that my pawn structure was decimated and She said, “That’s Okay.” And sure enough it was.
Twenty moves into the game, She tells me that I am getting read to swoon. My head spins. She tells me that my arms are so heavy, and now I can barely move the mouse.
She picked off all my pieces. My king was alone and helpless. I continued to obey Her Commands in my zombie-like state.
As She played Her mating attack, She forced me on 3 consecutive moves to capture on of Her pieces; it was my only legal move. I felt horrible. I didn’t want to capture, but I had to. When I took Her Knight, my body shook in pain. I was miserable, so miserable taking Her pieces. Relief only came when She checkmated me.
She Laughed. I was in awe of Her. Based on our conversations, it was obvious that She had not played much, if any, chess before. I, on the other hand, regularly participate in tournaments. But there was absolutely nothing I could do. All chess ability is nothing against, Her Words, Her Voice, Her Hypnosis, Her Spell.
She said She had a lot of fun and I told Her I had the time of my life. She said we might play again in the future. I can’t wait to lose to Her again.
